#9 — Rain Over The Brooklyn Bridge
COMPOSED BY KARNA MENDONCA & PREMIERED BY PIANIST CHRISTOPHER GOODPASTURE, INSPIRED BY SUSANA ALDANONDO'S PAINTING "RAIN OVER THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE.”
“‘Rain Over The Brooklyn Bridge’ is a piece I painted under the rain, on the Brooklyn Bridge. I often find myself painting under the rain, rain is often part of my creative process. The distinctive marks on the canvas were created by the rain falling over the bridge. The scene is an abstraction of the bridge on that rainy day.
A few people rushing by, and it was literally the bridge, the rain and I, and the tango I was listening to while I painted.
The liberating feeling of painting abstraction under the rain in the city I love, ran passionately through me while I painted.”
