#14 — Wherever I Go, You Go

COMPOSED BY ELISE ARANCIO & PREMIERED BY VIOLINIST MAYA BUCHANAN, INSPIRED BY TIMOTHEOS PETRIN'S PAINTING "VISION UNFOLDING" AND E.E. CUMMING’S POEM [I CARRY YOUR HEART WITH ME(I CARRY IT IN].

“While listening to music, uninvited shapes and images appear in my mind. Inspiration to “Vision Unfolding” came when listening to the third movement of the Violin Concerto by Philip Glass. In a way I find this painting to be a reflection of this piece. The vision starts taking shape slowly and yet decisively in the vagueness of the white canvas. It then evolves with unwavering speed and perspective. I wanted to capture this process of evolution through the relentless motion of time, so I stopped the process in the middle thinking that what is incomplete may as well be considered as resolved and absolute.”
